Influenced by traditionnal black-american music, the belgian bluesman and award-winner NICO BACKTON crosses different experiences in Europe as well as in Africa, before sharing the stage with french musicians, the "Wizards of Blues". Together, their music cross the United States from down South up to the cold North, from dusty cottonfields to the screaming streets of Chicago. They won the "Blues-sur-Seine" and "Rendez-Vous de l'Erdre" Awards in 2005, which helped to confirm their solid reputation in France also. NICO BACKTON & Wizards of Blues is concidered by specialized critics and press as one of the best acoustic Blues bands on the French Scene. They played on most of the biggest french Blues-Festivals all over the country, like the Blues sur Seine, Les Rendez-Vous de l'Erdre, Europa Jazz Festival, Cahors Blues Festival, Jazz en Touraine, and many more. After the big succes of their albums "Back Door Blues" and "Blues on My Front Door", Nico & Wizards came back with the album "Roots and Stories" which has known the same succes and new amazing critics. The european distribution of the album by Naked Productions / Bertus opened a way to the European Scene, where they also played on different main Festivals like the Linton Blues Festival (UK), Charleroi Blues Night (B), Carralejo Blues festival (Canarias) and the Suwalki Blues Festival (PL) amongst others.
